This is achieved by directly assisting the imaging technologist(s) and performing a variety of tasks to enhance the flow of patients, supplies and information to, from, and within the Imaging department. Typical responsibilities of this role include patient room preparation, stock/inventory maintenance, patient transport coordination and occasional reception/scheduling duties as needed.Job Description:JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES: TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE<ul><li>Assists the technologist during examinations including lifting, holding, and/or positioning patients for the procedure. Assures rooms are prepared with the correct equipment and supplies needed for each scheduled exam.</li><li>Reviews the schedule and identifies conflicts or potential problems or risks and takes action to resolve issues in advance.</li><li>Assists in room turnover by changing linens and cleaning surfaces between patients. Cleans equipment, disposes of waste properly, restocks supplies and leaves the workplace ready for subsequent exams.</li></ul> PATIENT SERVICES<ul><li>Instructs and assists patients as needed with activities necessary to prepare for an imaging procedure.</li><li>Escorts outpatients to dressing rooms or exam areas as needed.</li><li>Transports inpatients to appropriate area of department using appropriate means of transportation and returns patient back to room following exam.</li><li>Assist patients with the completion of forms and/or verbally screen patients.</li><li>Provide instruction or assistance during or after an imaging procedure.</li></ul> EDUCATION:<ul><li>HS Diploma: High School Diploma or General Education (GED)</li></ul> CERTIFICATION &amp; LICENSURE:<ul><li>BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider</li></ul>DEPARTMENT REQUIRED CERTIFICATION &amp; LICENSURE<ul><li>Department, MMC: EKG (cardiac monitoring) within 6 months</li></ul> SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:<ul><li>Knowledge and ability to use good body mechanics.</li><li>Ability to communicate (read, write and speak) clearly with various patients, family members and staff.</li><li>Ability to maintain composure during challenging interpersonal interactions.</li><li>Ability to process requests quickly, accurately, and consistently with general supervision.</li><li>Customer service skills and professional demeanor</li><li>Ability to lift and position patients properly using best practices.</li><li>Ability to walk or stand for long periods at a time.</li><li>Ability to work with others in a flexible and cooperative manner.</li><li>Answer telephones</li><li>Establish filing systems</li><li>Maintain filing systems</li><li>Medical Terminology</li></ul> PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS: See required physical demands, mental components, visual activities &amp; working conditions at the following link: Job RequirementsJob Shift:VariedSchedule:Per Diem/CasualShift Hours:8Days of the Week:VariableWeekend Requirements:As NeededBenefits:NoUnions:NoPosition Status:Non-ExemptWeekly Hours:0Employee Status:Per Diem/CasualSutter Health is an equal opportunity employer EOE/M/F/Disability/Veterans.Pay Range is $23.63 to $29.53 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location.
