What is an Urology Nurse?
Urology nurses, also called urologic nurses, are registered nurses who specialize in diagnosing, treating, and educating patients with urologic health issues or diseases. Their focus includes the urinary tract and kidneys in male and female patients and male reproductive organs. Urology nurses may care for patients dealing with urinary tract and bladder infections, kidney and bladder stones, certain cancers, prostatitis, incontinence, and aspects of male and female infertility. They may deal with everything from routine to extremely complex cases involving a range of conditions and diseases, making each day different and potentially challenging.
