Description
Job Title: Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – 12-Week Assignment
Location: New York, NY
Start Date: March 3, 2025
End Date: May 31, 2025
Job Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) for a 12-week assignment in New York. As a Med-Surg RN, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients with a variety of medical conditions. You will work closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and compassionate care for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans for medical-surgical patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IVs, wound care, and post-operative care.
- Monitor patient progress, noting changes in conditions, and report significant findings to the medical team.
- Assist with patient education regarding post-discharge instructions, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and discharge planning.
- Document all patient care and interactions accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure patient safety and comfort by adhering to hospital protocols and safety standards.
- Respond to patient needs promptly and advocate for patient care.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers of patients as needed.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in New York.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Med-Surg nursing experience.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to assess and manage a variety of medical conditions.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Must be available to commit to the full 12-week assignment from March 3, 2025, to May 31, 2025.
