Description
Village Health Partners / Village Pediatrics (now a part of Catalyst Physician Group) is seeking a friendly and professional Pediatric Front Office / Medical Assistant to join our team in West Plano. We are a well-established primary care practice dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive healthcare services to our community. We are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a compassionate and supportive environment. This role will be primarily front office and assist in the back office as needed.
Front Office Responsibilities:
- Check patients in for appointments and update patient demographic and insurance information
- Assist patients with completing necessary forms and document patient information in EMR
- Collect copayments, deductibles, and outstanding balances upon check out
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries promptly and efficiently
- Schedule follow-up appointments
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception and waiting areas
- Address patient concerns and complaints with empathy and professionalism
- Perform other administrative tasks as assigned
Back Office Responsibilities:
- Manage patient rooming to efficiently meet daily appointment schedules
- Review presenting issue, visit history, orders, and update EMR appropriately
- Obtain vital signs and prep patient for visit
- Fluent in medical terminology & medication refill protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and equipment
- Collaborate with medical staff and other departments to ensure seamless patient care
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Follow all HIPAA and privacy rules while discussing sensitive health information with the patient or their authorized delegates
Qualifications:
- MA certification preferred but not required
- Pediatric experience a plus
- 1 year experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
- EMR experience required - Athena preferred
- Superior customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Highly motivated and organized
- Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA and OSHA rules and regulations
