Essential Functions
- Collect and analyze data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or situation.
- Determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues.
- Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or situation.
- Develop and implement a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.
- Coordinate care delivery and employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- Delegate elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers, adhering to legal or policy parameters.
- Evaluate progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes.
- Practice in a manner that respects cultural diversity and inclusion principles.
- Communicate effectively in all areas of practice.
- Collaborate with healthcare consumers and other key stakeholders in nursing practice.
- Demonstrate leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession.
- Seek knowledge and competence reflecting current nursing practice and promote futuristic thinking.
- Integrate evidence and research findings into practice.
- Contribute to quality nursing practice.
- Evaluate one's own and others' nursing practice in relation to professional standards and guidelines.
- Utilize appropriate resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services that are safe, effective, and fiscally responsible.
- Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
- Practice ethically and promote shared governance or facility decision-making activities.
- Develop and nurture research to positively affect clinical outcomes and promotion.
- Work involves walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Must communicate effectively in English.
- Possess an intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch, along with finger dexterity.
- Exhibit critical thinking and concentration abilities, with the capacity to respond quickly to changes in patient or unit conditions.
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider status according to the American Heart Association.
- Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of residence, or meet the licensure requirements for National License Compact (NLC) states.
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
