As a traveler, Strong Memorial was very friendly. They do not treat travelers differently than staff. You never get the worst assignment just because your a traveler. There is no ITA's, CNA's or sitters so that can make some shifts unpleasant but coworkers are plentiful and usually willing to help. Sometimes they admit everyone even when they don't know why so holds can be overwhelming. Always have the equipment you need but not always an ideal environment for patients care. Many hallway beds being utilized Sometimes inappropriately. For example someone on 5L  NC may be in a hallway bed. pt:Staff ratios are scary but management/charge nurses are helpful (if you let them know you need help)

I was in one of the MICUs and it was an amazing contract. They don’t skimp on staffing and there was always a free charge and 95% of the time a resource nurse for the unit. a very welcoming hospital and super supportive about diversity. Felt like a very safe environment for both staff and patients. The staff nurses there are freaking awesome and over all Strong has a lot of resources which makes caring for patients much smoother. I would go back in a heart beat.

The Interventional Radiology Department here is an awesome place to work! Very nice people, and a lot of variety in cases. I highly reccomend the Body Vascular IR department; Body IR and Neuro IR are seperate departments.

Imaging staff are great and easy to get along with. They have clinical technicians that are very helpful turning rooms over, assisting in moving patients, getting monitoring placed. Great overall place to work.

The travelers and a majority of the core staff were amazing. The experience of the fellow travelers made the entire contract worth staying. The long commute from the parking is a bit extreme and the patient population is physically demanding & the care is more ER holds than ER as a Traveler. Also no techs but would come back for sure!
