Had a great experience with Henry Ford Jackson hospital in MI. A caring and supportive nursing environment that was very busy but helps provide vascular RNs, LPN and CNA team contributions for an effective team.

The staff are great; super friendly and willing/able to help. Their techs have great ratios so you aren’t ever your patient’s primary, but you can have 5 patients on the stepdown unit. They aren’t TRUE stepdown patients a lot of the time (they don’t do a ton of drips, no art lines or prededex), but they stick their higher acuity patients in PCU, which can be frustrating because the medsurg nurses also have 5 that aren’t as sick or busy. I get floated a lot, but have almost always had a fair assignment and enough resources when off my home unit

A lot of drama in this department, lots of leadership shuffling trying to solve the dramatics. Very busy, does as many cases as hospitals twice the size. Working hard to reduce usage of travelers
