Ratio at this facility is 1:3. PCA’s are not very helpful, and if you are not on top of it vitals and blood sugars will not get done. You will float mid shift everyday if they need you to, but each unit I’ve been has been amazing. So, it’s not a bad float overall. But, otherwise this facility is very traveler friendly.

OR is super busy. Love the pods concept. Room turn overs are quick. Lots of changes going on so some days are weird. Travelers don’t attend the Thursday meetings and scheduled to work 9-9p or 11-11p. Always show up at the desk when reporting for work.

Brigham became one of my favorite assignments. The staff there was pretty welcoming and willing to teach (as long as you were willing to learn). 
The patient load is busy but you'll always have someone to help. 
They have ceiling lifts/hoyer lifts in every CT room. 
All the protocols are pretty straight forward and they have a SOP for any unusual scans. 
I highly recommend this assignment if you have a background with Siemens scanners.

One of the better ones

They use the bait and switch method. Management promises one thing and does a different thing. They do not honor company contracts. Management aside the culture is nice everyone helps everyone. I would go back again but would not expect them to honor my contract. Management are travelers.

- Operates CT equipment to obtain diagnostic images and information according to departmental protocol. In doing so, ensures the patient is properly prepared, positioned, immobilized and uses protective shield on the patient as needed. Selects proper imaging factors, and images the designated portion(s) of the body.

Surgical Technologist Ambulatory Treatment week day per diem 7:30a to 3:30p Position Summary This is the second level of the surgical technologist career ladder. Incumbents in this classification are function as fully competent and independent, providing orientation and support to other surgical technologists and actively participates in organizational committees and initiatives. Principal Duties and Responsibilities · Provides for a clean, safe and efficient area conducive to optimal patient care. Utilizes aseptic surgical techniques in the preparation of materials, supplies and equipment for surgical procedures (e.g., assistance with gowning and gloving; preparation and draping of the surgical area; provision of a sterile field, instruments, suture, and related materials; anticipation of the Surgeons' needs; holding of retractors, observing and reporting possible breaks in aseptic technique; and assisting in maintaining a sterile, dry, unobstructed field). • May assist with proper patient safety measures, i.e., safety strap application, protective padding and arm-board placement under the delegation and direction of the circulating nurse. • In collaboration with the RN, assists with the preparation and positioning of patients maintaining proper body alignment of patient and self to ensure safety precautions. • Assists in the transfer of patients from stretcher to bed, ensuring that the bed is locked and secure during transfer. • Performs appropriate counts with circulator to verify removal of all countable items from surgical site in accordance with established procedure. • Receives (from RN) medication passed onto the sterile field to be administered by the surgical team. Assists the circulator and surgical team in accounting for amounts of medications and irrigations administered. • Handles all surgical specimens according to procedure. Relates the type of specimen to the circulator to ensure proper labeling. • Ensures the availability of equipment and supplies for any type of emergency. • Checks for expiration dates on sterile products and resolves any deficiencies identified. • Communicates essential information of the constantly changing requirements of the surgical team, i.e., updating preference cards. • Ensures the efficient and effective cleaning of the operating room according to established protocols. • Cleans and restocks rooms utilizing knowledge of aseptic technique. • Disposes of all waste materials according to established protocols. Pays particular attention to the disposal of hazardous (knife blades) or infected material. • Separates instrumentation into appropriate containers. Also performs stress echocardiograms and dobutamine echocardiograms. Included in that plan would be assisting in scheduling of procedures, inventory of supplies and maintaining equipment. Job requires a high level of knowledge to read and interpret test results, especially those, which are abnormal or atypical. Assists in the teaching of the Cardiac fellows assigned to the department. 
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. P
erforms 2-dimensional, color Doppler and Doppler of the heart echocardiograms. 
Also performs stress and dobutamine echocardiograms, which requires a high level of knowledge to interpret and analyze test performance and results.

ust be proficient and knowledgeable in non-imaging continuous Doppler to perform effective results for diagnosing and imaging abnormal pathologies
