Job Description:
Reason for coverage: Open position.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 0700-1530, no call.
Documentation system/EMR: Meditech Expanse.
CRNA supervision: CRNAs work independently, but an Anesthesiologist is present in the hospital at all times during M-F 0700-1530.
Average number of surgical cases per day: 12-22.
Pain management cases: One day a week, averaging six cases.
Trauma level/designation: N/A.
Annual ER volume: Approximately 17,000.
Number of operating rooms: Four plus a cath lab.
Patient age demographic: Adult and pediatric.
Procedures required: General surgical cases (adult and pediatric), epidural anesthesia, obstetrical cases, spinal anesthesia.

Estimated Credentialing Timeframe:  30 days

Requirements
Board Certified CRNA 
Active OH license - highly preferred
BLS, ACLS, PALS 


Philadelphia PA Cardiac Surgery ICU experience required

Schedule -  3  13 hour shifts.  Will rotate between days and nights.  Morning position is usually 630a-730p  nights is 7p-8a

They will schedule 2-3 weeks working one shift, then 2-3 weeks on opposite shift.
Every Third Weekend. Try to be as flexible with people as possible.

**OT eligible if they pick up a 4th shift. 
 
Will take 2 people.  Will consider straight nights.  Will consider someone for 2 shifts per week.

HVICU (cardiac surgery ICU)

Able to manage complex critically ill cardiac surgery patients.
Able to manage patient with ECMO, impella, VAD
Proficient in procedures: Bronchoscopy, central line, arterial line
Able to manage advanced modes of mechanical ventilation

Typical ratio currently is 1 to 8.  GOAL is to get to 1 to 5 
HVICU – highest acuity in the region , Penn Presby. 

Procedures:
ECMO

20 bed unit, but it’s a mixed unit.  Usually about 14 patients.  Goal is 3 APPs on day and 2 at night. 

Team is a great team, some folks are languishing ;  they are experienced , everyone has been there for 2 years or more

Nurse Practitioner ( Acute Care Certified) or Physician Assistant ( masters prepared) – must have strong critical care experience, ideally within cardiac or vascular

Minimum Requirements:
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Masters Physician Assistant required
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Pennsylvania State license, active and in good standing at time of hire
AHA ACLS and CPR Required
Critical Care and/or Cardiac Care experience is preferred

What you will do:

Provide primary medical coverage in collaboration with PO physicians as needed. Performs initial, semi-annual and annual assessments, performs additional assessments of participants as needed and implements appropriate plans of care to PO participants.
Participates in discharge planning for acute and long-term placement.
Evaluate and treat participants during acute illness. Prudently prescribes medications, therapies and other treatments for participants. Following consultation with the Primary Care Physician refers participants to medical specialist as indicated.
Make nursing home/or home visits when needed.
Work with Medical Director and Clinic Supervisor to formulate clinical policies, procedures and standards of care.  Assists with the development of standards of care; performs on-going monitoring and evaluation of patient care practice and service delivery; provides guidance and training to staff regarding medical and quality assurance issues.
Advise the Medical Director and/or Primary Care Provider in ways and means to establish better accountability of the PO services to participants and referral sources. Acts as resource during intake of new participants and in the day-to-day operation of the center programs.

Requirements
Master's degree in Nursing 
Minimum Five (5) years of experience required preferably in long-term care.
Active PA License 
BLS, CDS, DEA 
Board Certified by ANCC or AANP
Certification as a Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority required.
A minimum of one (1) year working with the frail or elderly population strongly preferred
Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation


Newport News VA Dates of Coverage: Starting February 7, 2025, with ongoing needs to support two full-time providers.
Reason for Coverage: Cover our two Hampton Roads clinics 
Practice Setting: Occupational Health
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00-close (close at 4:30pm but can be delayed by walk in injuries)
Average Number of Patients per Day: 8-10

Number of Exam Rooms: 5
Number of Physicians in Practice: 1
Description of Support Staff: RNs, RTs, MAs, LPN, RN Supervisor, Office Manager, PSRs

Required Duties: Pre-Employment Physicals, Return-to Duty Testing, DOT Physicals, workers compensation injury care
