CT Technologist Location: 31 Union St, Vernon, CT 06066 Department: Radiology / Cardiology Employment Type: Contract (13 Weeks) Shift: Night Shift (5x8-Hour, 23:30 - 07:30) Block Schedules: Not Available Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced CT Technologist to join our radiology team at a community hospital in Vernon, CT. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of one year of experience in CT and Radiologic technology, with expertise in conducting diagnostic imaging procedures and ensuring high-quality imaging studies. The role involves working with patients of all age groups, including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Key Responsibilities: • Perform CT and radiologic examinations with accuracy and efficiency. • Produce high-quality imaging studies for diagnostic purposes. • Prepare examination rooms and equipment for scheduled procedures. • Ensure proper patient positioning and safety during imaging studies. • Transport patients between the ER and Imaging Department as required. • Maintain a thorough understanding of physics, anatomy, medical terminology, and radiation protection principles related to radiology practice. • Adhere to hospital policies, radiation safety guidelines, and infection control standards. • Assist in patient preparation, including starting peripheral IVs and administering contrast media. • Utilize PACS and Siemens equipment for imaging procedures. • Ensure compliance with ECHN’s age-specific knowledge/skill requirements and complete the annual mandatory education program. Qualifications & Experience: • Minimum Experience: 1 year as a CT Technologist (Community Hospital Experience Required). Certification & Licenses: • ARRT (CT) Certification • ARRT (R) Certification • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification • Active State License (Connecticut) Technical Skills: • Experience with Siemens imaging equipment • Knowledge of PACS systems • Proficiency in contrast studies, trauma imaging, multiplanar reconstructions (MPR), and vascular imaging • Strong understanding of radiation safety and isolation precautions Patient Demographics: • Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics Special Procedures/Unit Details: • Performing contrast and non-contrast imaging procedures, including: • Abdomen, pelvis, and chest studies • Vascular imaging (CTA, pulmonary embolism, carotid) • Trauma imaging (head, soft tissue, musculoskeletal) • General radiography and advanced multiplanar reconstructions • Ensuring adherence to radiation safety and infection control measures • Preparing contrast media and administering per protocol Additional Information: • Scrub Color: Navy • COVID-19 Requirement: Vaccine and booster required (Medical/Religious exemptions accepted) • Local Restrictions: Candidates must reside outside a 30-mile radius of the facility • First-Time Travelers: Not Accepted Weekly Pay Breakdown: Weekly Gross: $2,830.00 Per Week On W2(Taxable): $800.00 Per Week Stipend(Non-Taxable): $2,030.00 Per Week
