1. General job duties. Types of procedures required.

Types of procedures performed in the CT Department include but is not limited to: Abdomen, Angiography, Bones, Brain/Head, Chest, Neck, Pelvis, Renal Stones, Sinus, Spine, Cardiac, Biopsy

Post processing, 3D imaging

Charting

Screening patients



2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)

CT Techs will utilize GE and Siemens scanners. We have a Siemens Flash and a GE VCT scanners.

The EMR is EPIC and PACS is Intelerad



3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.

Three years of CT experience would be preferred. We would like someone with Siemens and GE experience for the CT scanners. Someone who also has a good skill set with starting IVs. Trauma experience would also be very good.



4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)

ARRT - CT



5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)

The shifts are normally variable however this is subject to change depending on the need in the department. The CT Techs never work alone. Call is not typically required; however, this is dependent on the need at hand.



6. Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)

Technologists do not float at the St. Joseph site.



7. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.

We have two scanners in the hospital and one in the outpatient imaging area.



8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)

9. Dress Code:

Scrub attire, colors are based on the hospital standard.



10. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.

The Radiology Department has approx. 115 caregivers in total. We cover the medical center 24/7. We have an outpatient imaging area that covers during normal business hours. Our technologists typically do not work in other modalities. If you are assigned to CT then that is where you will reside. Training for agency is typically a week long and then you will have someone with you if you have questions or need help.
