Job Duties

Up to $25,000 Bonus for Registered Nurses that are new to state service and remain with the facility for 2 years.

$15,000 sign on bonus will be awarded to new hires to state service with a one-year written agreement requirement.

An additional $10,000 retention bonus will eb awarded to new hires who are hired after November 9th, 2023. The retention bonus will be paid out one year after hire date and require a on-year written agreement.

Eastern State Hospital, located in Williamsburg, Virginia, was founded in 1773, with a well-intentional emphasis on community focused mental health care. This state of the art campus, situated on 500 acres, consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients, and a highly skilled staff of over 900. Eastern State Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) system, and is accredited by the Joint Commission.

ESH is currently hiring for 12-hour shifts: Day/Evening 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. or Evening/Night 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.

The entry level Registered Nurse delivers quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients through utilization of the nursing process in accordance with hospital policy and procedure and standards of nursing care and practice. Supervises, documents, evaluates and provides evidence in performance of staff.

Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or license eligible; multi-state compact endorsement accepted or licensed within 90 days of employment.

Additional Considerations

• Psychiatry and or geriatric related experience preferred.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution of higher education preferred.
