Responsible for performing all diagnostic imaging procedures, including surgery. Will cross train in Cat Scan. May require rotating call for nights and weekends. Performs other duties as assigned. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.

  • Successful completion of a two-year program for Radiologic Technology preferred.
  • Requires certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or be registry eligible.
  • Certification by the ARRT must be accomplished within 18 months of hire date or employee will be let go.
  • Performs portable exams and surgical procedures.
  • Performs the following imaging procedures: extremities, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, head and facial.
  • Ensures quality of care.
  • Rotates to outside clinics as necessary.
  • Rotates call responsibility for emergency procedures after hours.

Reports to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging. This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Radiology and Mammography Technologist functions involve a moderate exposure to hazardous risks, including potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, radiation, electrical equipment, chemicals such as Developer and Fixer, alcohol, Betadine, Clorox, Virex, Floor wax, etc. Potential for bodily injury from needle stick and lifting are possible. Universal safety precautions will be followed at all times. Exposed to constant interruptions, noise, disagreeable odors and assorted chemicals.
