Weekend Requirement: Every other

Holiday Requirements: As needed to meet unit needs

Self-scheduling: Unit schedulers will make travelers schedule

Floating Requirements: Can float to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care

Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:4-5

Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, Insulin; maintenance doses of IV meds (non-titratable)

Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes

Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Duties?: CNAs 1:10 ratio- available CNAs fluctuates based on unit census

RT Equipment: BiPAP, Airvo

Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Yes, RNs must read and interpret

Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:4-5

Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Young adults through geriatrics, sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, COVID, stroke, renal failure, COPD, DKA, patients with complex medical issues including multisystem failure

Floating to other units as needed

Scrubs/Dress Code: RN: Navy Blue

Orientation: First week classroom then 2-12 hour shifts on the floor

Additional Notes: Busy patient flow- admitting and discharging within the same 6-hour time frame while also completing shift change.
