  • BLS, ACLS, PALS must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY required.
  • TNCC required.
  • Telemetry Exam: Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience.
  • Traveler will be required to pass UW Health adult and pediatric telemetry test prior to being cleared to start.

  • We are seeking a Registered Nurse to:
  • The Emergency Department offers comprehensive services with access to a full team of subspecialists for our local and regional patients and referring hospitals and organizations.
  • Over 60,000 patients per year are treated on an urgent and emergent basis in our 58-bed department; which includes the American Family Children's Hospital Emergency Department.
  • Our staff coordinates care with ground ambulances and Med Flight for severely ill and injured patients.
  • As the focal point for emergency care, the Emergency Department performs diagnostic interventions, offers immediate consultations for cardiac catheterization, Level I trauma care, acute stroke care, burn center, operative procedures, special diagnostic testing and definitive care for all patients pediatrics to adults.
  • Additionally, we have a very active ECPR (ECMO) program.
    Job requirements
  • Facility Requirement: Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison.
  • Experience: Two (2) years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within last 3 years.
  • Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center.
  • Successfully completed traveler assignment (13 week minimum).
  • Reference: Needs 2 completed references from recent work environment/assignments in the last two years (supervisor or manager only).
    Unit specific information
  • The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization.
  • During the traveler's assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts could be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.
    Additional Details
  • UW Health is moving away from using outdated file formats for Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Profiles will need to be submitted in the following format: .docx, .xlsx and .pptx file types.
