Job Description
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to provide intensive care to patients who are acutely ill from neurological deficits. The Neuroscience ICU specializes in:
- Subarachnoid hemorrhages
- Unstable ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes
- Traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries
The unit consists of 16 beds and provides ICP monitoring and hemodynamic monitoring for unstable patients. Nurses will have the opportunity to work with severe neurological, neurovascular, and neurosurgical populations.
Experience Requirements
- Experience: Must have at least two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the specialty of Intensive Care or Ventricular care.
Licensure and Certification
- Nursing License: Must have a valid Wisconsin nursing license or a compact license from the permanent address state.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) must be certified through the American Heart Association.
- Basic Arrhythmia experience is required; candidates must pass a Telemetry test prior to starting.
Additional Requirements
- Floating: Travelers may be required to float to different units based on staffing needs.
- Distance Requirement: Traveler’s permanent address must be within 50 miles of the assigned primary work site location.
