Job Description

The Nuclear Radiology Generalist is responsible for performing high-quality routine and specialized Nuclear Radiology procedures as requested by licensed independent practitioners for interpretation by radiologists. Key responsibilities include:

• Integrating scientific knowledge, technical skills, patient interaction, and compassionate care to provide diagnostic information.
• Demonstrating a thorough understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Maintaining a high degree of accuracy in positioning and technique.
• Ensuring radiation safety and protection for self, patients, and others.
• Preparing, administering, and documenting activities related to medications in accordance with state regulations and institutional policies.
• Acting as a liaison between patients, radiologists, and other support team members.
• Confirming patient identity and verifying pregnancy and informed consent statuses.
• Assessing factors that may contraindicate procedures, including medication contraindications and patient history.

Additional Information

• Operation and troubleshooting of required equipment, including automated processors and PACS.
• Basic life support and understanding of medical terminology are required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential for interacting with patients, parents, and healthcare personnel.
• Must honor patient confidentiality and demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills.
• Proficiency in basic office equipment is necessary; bilingual skills are preferred.
