Job Description

The Circulating RN will be responsible for the delivery of care in the peri-operative setting through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluation of care for patients of all ages (pediatric, adolescent, adult, and older adults). Responsibilities include coordinating with the surgical team (surgeon, anesthesiologist, pre and post-operative nurses, and surgical tech) while maintaining professional nursing standards. The role may also involve training other nurses.

Equipment Utilized

• Computerized charting (Meditech)

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience
• Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program

Licensures and Certifications

• Current AK RN license
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification
• Certified Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) by the American Heart Association
• Moderate sedation and PACU experience highly preferred

Shift and Schedule Requirements

• Varied shifts, typically:

  • Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
  • 3 twelve-hour shifts: 7 AM to 7:30 PM or 7 PM to 7:30 AM
  • On-call night shifts

• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:1

Dress Code

• Scrubs provided by the facility
