Job Description

• Position/Specialty: Stepdown/PCU RN
• Shift: 3x12 Nights (1845-0715), with the option for 4x12s if preferred.
• Ratios/Daily Caseload: Not specified.
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year experience required. First-timers not accepted.
• Weekend Requirement: Will work every other weekend.
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH (National Institutes of Health)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred.
• On-call Requirement: No.
• Floating: Will float as needed within scope to meet facility needs.
• Local Candidates Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions.
• Pending License: Not accepted; must have an active Illinois license to apply.
• RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days.
• Guaranteed Hours: Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen-week assignment without compensation for the cancelled hours.

• Genitourinary/Renal Skills:

  • Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management
• IV Therapy/Phlebotomy Skills:

  • Accessing Ports
  • Blood Product Administration
  • Central line care/management
• Medication Skills:

  • Heparin Protocols
  • Manage Cardiac and Vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Neurological/Psychiatric Case Experience:

  • Craniotomy
  • CVA
  • Pre/Post neurosurgery
• Orthopedics Case Experience:

  • Ortho Trauma
  • Total Joint Replacements
• Respiratory Skills:

  • Care of Ventilated Patients
  • Interpretation of ABGs
  • Tracheostomy Management
