Job Description

• Experience Required: 2 years
• Float Required: IMCU/Tele/CDU
• Documentation System: EPIC

Patient Diagnosis

• Adult, Geriatric, General Respiratory Failure, Cardiac, Renal, CIWA, GI
• Mixed Tele and IMCU on two floors:

  • IMCU: 1:3 patient ratio
  • Tele: 1:4 patient ratio

Special Procedures/Unit Details

• Must be IMU Level RNs for this PCU.
• Pre/Post cardiac cath
• Bipap, Breathing Treatments, CPAP/BiPap
• Cardioversion / Defibrillation
• Cooling / Warming Blanket
• Obtain 12 Lead EKG
• Drains, Epidural Pumps, Feeding Tubes, Fistula, PCA Pumps
• PICC/Central Lines, Port-A-Cath/Vascular Device Access/Care, Syringe Pumps, Triple Lumen Catheter, Wound Vac
• Medications: Amiodarone, Antiarrhythmics, Anti-seizure

Skills Required

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Blood product administration
• Procedural sedation administration
• Chest tubes management
• Tracheostomy management

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Additional Information

• Special Requirements:

  • Candidates who have worked for any Providence affiliated facility as permanent staff must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify for a travel contract.
  • Swedish honors compact licenses.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical Exam within 1 year of start.
