Job details

Conducts or participates in special procedures while working directly with the radiologist to obtain specific results to be used by physicians for diagnostic purposes and interventional treatment. Stand-by call also required.
Performs special procedures in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination within the guidelines, policies, procedures and standards of Medical Imaging to assigned patients of all ages.
Performs sure guidance and needle guidance using CT and/or Fluoroscopy under the direct supervision of the Radiologist.
Exhibits competency in performing and filming angiographic and CT radiographic procedures.
Deviates from routines when the patient's condition requires it or at the request of the radiologist.
Knowledgeable of catheters, guidewires, and sterile trays and prepares these items as necessary.
Obtains and documents accurate pre and post procedure information as applicable.
Follows JCAHO patient safety goals.
Maintains quality care throughout the procedure.
Practices radiation protection through shielding whenever possible.
Demonstrates a practical problem-solving approach to patient moving and handling issues.
Demonstrates skills to promote patient and staff safety through the appropriate use of lift equipment.
Performs patient bedside lab testing and associated quality control in compliance with medical provider's orders and hospital lab procedures and policies.

Job requirements

1-3 years of experience with problem-solving skills, the ability to set priorities, organize work and have excellent interpersonal skills.
Flexibility and the ability to work well with others are required.
Basic reading skills
Basic writing skills
Basic oral skills
Ability to respond appropriately to customer/co-worker
Interaction with a wide variety of people
Ability to maintain confidential information
Ability to communicate only the facts to recipients or to decline to reveal information
Ability to project a professional, friendly, helpful demeanor
Basic computer knowledge: Uses word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail application, and web browser.
Comfortable within a Windows OS and learning new applications.
