  • Performs chemo, therapeutic treatments and blood transfusions and phlebotomy procedures.
  • The Registered Nurse (RN) provides and coordinates the care of patients/families and significant others in the ambulatory care setting by assessing, diagnosing, planning and intervening in actual or potential health problems, including evaluation of the patient’s response to the care.
  • Responsible for all unit enabling operations including patient flow, assignment, ordering and medical record prep.
  • Responsible for telephone communication, telephone triage, communicate test results in collaboration with provider including appropriate follow-up
  • Assist with procedures.
  • Administer oral/IM/IV/SQ/Inhaled medications.
  • Administer blood and blood products, specific to specialty areas.
  • Performs treatments such as: chemotherapy administration, conscious sedation and other procedures specific to specialty practices.

  • Identifies learning family/patient needs, including level of comprehension.
  • Informs about treatments, tests, preps, OR procedures.
  • Instructs on home and self-care.
  • Evaluates client outcomes through return demonstration and/or verbalization of understanding.
  • Maintains an environment that is conducive to meeting patient care needs and that facilitates patient flow.
  • Promotes and provides for patient safety in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Practices and monitors infection control. Maintains a clean, quiet, organized patient care environment
  • Demonstrates a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude in dealing with patients families and significant others.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned or perform other duties when necessary.
