Job Description

• Experience Required:

  • 2 years of ICU experience
  • At least 1 year of permanent experience prior to travel
  • 1 year of Epic experience required
• First-Timers Accepted: No, preference for experienced travelers with 2-3 prior completed assignments.
• Weekend Requirements: Must be flexible, scheduled based on unit needs.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or TCAR
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Preferred Certifications

• CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse)
• CSC (Cardiac Surgery Certified)
• SCRN (Stroke Certified Registered Nurse)
• TCRN (Trauma Certified Registered Nurse)

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Management of multi-system organ failure
• Thermoregulation (hypothermia/hyperthermia)
• Pre/Post cardiac catheterization/intervention
• IV insulin protocols
• Management of chronic/acute renal failure
• Arterial line management
• Blood product administration
• Central line care/management
• PICC line management
• Starting IVs and continuous IV sedation
• Emergency medications and procedural sedation administration
• Ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• Infection prevention and isolation precautions
• Management of surgical wounds with drains/Wound Vac
• Use of high flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
