Job Description

• Role: Med/Surg Tele RN
• Shifts: Rotating shifts (7pm-7:30am / 7am-7:30pm), typically consisting of 2 weeks of days followed by 2 weeks of nights.
• Holiday Requirement: Must work at least every other holiday.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience.
• Licensure: Must have a permanent Ohio license or a compact state license in hand.
• Certifications Required:

  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Additional Requirements

• Documentation:

  • Government-Issued Photo ID required.
  • Background check required prior to start.
  • References: 2 references required from employment within the last year.
  • Employment application must include 3 years of prior work history, including at least 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting.

Health Requirements

• Physical Exam: Required within a year of start.
• Vaccinations:

  • Tdap vaccine required every 10 years.
  • Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray required within 12 months of start.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer required.
  • Varicella vaccination or titer required.

Competencies

• Competency Exams: Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
• Drug Testing: Standard 10-panel drug screen required within 12 months of start and updated annually.

Onboarding Process

• Candidates must complete all required online training modules prior to clearance to start.
• Fingerprinting required within 12 months of start and updated annually.

Notes

• Candidates must be aware of the high priority of completing onboarding modules and documentation in a timely manner.
• All certifications must be current and renewed if they expire within 30 days of the start date.
