Job Description

• Position: Med/Surg Tele RN
• Shift: Rotating shifts (7pm-7:30am / 7am-7:30pm), typically consisting of 2 weeks of days followed by 2 weeks of nights.
• Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience.
  • 18 months permanent experience in the specialty prior to travel assignments.
• Licensure: Must have a permanent Ohio license or compact state license in hand.
• Certifications Required:

  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Additional Requirements

• Must work at least every other holiday.
• ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment to be completed during orientation.
• Government-issued photo ID required while on assignment.

Certifications and Competencies

• Certifications Required:

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • Additional certifications may be required based on unit specifics (e.g., PALS, NRP, etc.)
• Competencies:

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
  • Unit-Specific Competency Exam required within 12 months of start.

Health Documents

• Physical Exam: Required within a year of start.
• Vaccinations:

  • Tdap vaccine every 10 years.
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray required within 12 months of start.
• Drug Testing: Standard 10 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start.

Background and References

• Background Check: Required prior to start of assignment.
• References: 2 references required from employment within the past year.

• Application must include 3 years of prior work history, including at least 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting.

Onboarding Process

• Candidates must complete all onboarding modules prior to clearance to start.
