- Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, ONS Chemo Cert
- Staffing ratios - goal is 1:4, but can be 1:5
- Weekends - variable based on unit needs
- No set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff
- Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule
- First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor
- Oncology experience preferred but not required
- Floating to other Med/Surg and Oncology Units
- Patient Diagnoses include: Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Acute leukemias, Chronic Leukemias, Sickle Cell Disease, other non hem cancers, Other benign hematology
- Special Procedures/Unit Details include: Chemotherapy, Blood transfusions, IV Antibiotics, Oncologic emergencies like tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome, Insulin drips, Heparin drips, Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls
- Skills Required: MS/Tele, Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams, Feeding tube care and management, IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs
- COMPUTERIZED CHARTING - EPIC
- Variable weekends based on unit needs
- No set/blocked scheduling
- Self-schedule requests available
- Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls
- Chemotherapy and blood transfusion procedures
- Residency Declaration Form
- Check UD/Unit Cost Center Link to determine qualifications required per unit
- AHA certifications only (Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable)
- Travelers can renew ACLS and BLS at the facility
- Additional facility-specific documentation required
- Annual learning and competency exams required
- Physical proof of BCI/FBI fingerprinting completion
- Background acknowledgement form
- Dress Code information
- Confidential Fraud Waste Abuse and Compliance Reporting Mechanism Form
- Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Training Certificate requirements
- Physician documentation (Physical Exam) stating good health
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap requirements
- Negative TB or Chest X-Ray within 1 year
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- 2 MMR Vaccines or Positive Titer and additional health vaccinations
- Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen required within 3 months of start
- Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season
- COVID-19 Vaccination recommendations
