Unit Details

• General med/surg unit primarily caring for a geriatric population with varying diagnoses.

Schedule

• Weekend Requirement: Every Other
• Call Requirement: None
• Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.

Contract Length

• 8 weeks

Compliance and Documentation

• Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance may result in a 2-week delay.
• Maximum RTO (Request Time Off): 7 days.
• Major holidays may require work as specified.

Certifications Required

• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• BLS - Basic Life Support
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (if applicable)
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring (online course required within a few months of hire)
• State License Verification - Must be licensed by the State of Georgia
• NURSYS Verification - Required for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
• NIH Stroke Certification - Required for certain specialties
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam - Required for RNs and LVNs by Aya
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam - Required for specific units

Health Documents

• Physical Exam - Required within 1 year of start.
• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray - Required within 12 months of start date.
• TB Questionnaire - Required annually.
• Vaccinations -

  • Flu Vaccine - Required or declination.
  • COVID Vaccine - Required or declination.
  • Hepatitis B - Series or signed declination.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer.
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer.
• Drug Testing - Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen required within 30 days of start.

Background Check

• Required within 30 days of start, including verification of education and work history.

Additional Information

• Candidates must review and sign the Piedmont Code of Conduct and Dress Policy prior to starting.
• Skills Checklist must be updated annually.
