Job requirements

Minimum Experience: 2 years IMC/PCU/Tele experience required and MUST HAVE 1 YEAR STRONG CARDIAC EXPERIENCE (Cardiac SDU/Intermediate Cardiac/Cardiac ICU) Candidates cannot move forward in the interview process without experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro Drips
Required: at least ONE travel assignment must be completed
1 year recent EPIC charting experience required
Hard worker, Resilient and Manages Change well, Social candidates: Able to manage independently and complete tasks timely

Schedule information

Shift Requirements: 12 hours NOCS 1900-0730
Float Requirements: Float to all inpatient units as needed
On Call/Call Back Requirements: Able to take call if wanted
Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend. Every other holiday

44 Bed Intermediate cardiac stepdown
Fast paced, high patient turnover
Post op CABG/Valve, thoracotomy, Vascular, Arrhythmia, CHF, Post procedure cath, pacer, defib, ablations, Acute CP/MI, med/surg overflow i.e. detox, DKA, COPD exac, resp failure
Patient ratio typically 1:4

Additional Details

Radius Rule: Contractors must be outside a 50 mile radius of Aspirus Wausau
GSA hours are not guaranteed the week of Orientation. Traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays where unit is closed

Unit is traveler friendly, people are nice

Cons

Travelers are to work Friday, Sat and Sunday for their weekends, the patient population is almost exclusively geriatric, hospital is chaotic in admissions and discharges where patients will be admitted and discharged within 2-3 hours, CNA help is difficult to schedule
