Unit Details
- Unit Type: PCU/MS/ED Hold - Float Pool
- Patient Care: Nurses will care for post-surgical, medical, PCU stepdown on inpatient units and ER hold patients.
- Floating: Expected to float throughout the hospital, including the Emergency Department.
Schedule
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Call Requirement: None
- Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum Experience: 2 years
Compliance and Documentation
- Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; delays may result in a push back of 2 weeks.
- Background Check: Required within 30 days of start.
- References: 2 clinical references needed.
- Education Verification: Required; can be pending at start with proof that it is running.
Certifications Required
- ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- BLS: Basic Life Support
- PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (if applicable)
- NIH Stroke Certification: Required for RNs in specific specialties.
- State License Verification: Required within 30 days prior to start date.
- NURSYS Verification: Required within 30 days prior to start date.
Health Documents
- Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start.
- Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: Required within 12 months of start date.
- Flu Vaccine or Declination: Required.
- COVID Vaccine or Declination: Required.
Competencies
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for specific units.
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for RNs and LVNs.
Additional Information
- Dress and Professional Appearance Policy: Must be reviewed.
- Code of Conduct and Acknowledgement: Must be signed prior to start.
