  • Facility: New 15-bed Intensive Care Unit specializing in post-operative Liver Transplant care.
  • Provider Coverage: 24/7 in-house provider coverage for prompt medical attention.
  • Program Growth: VCU Health completed 205 liver transplants in 2023.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Required
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - Required
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Required
  • NIH Stroke Certification - Required
  • State License Verification - Permanent RN license required (temporary licenses not accepted)
  • NURSYS Verification (for RNs) - Required

Health Requirements

• Physical Exam: Initial physical required, updated annually.
• Vaccinations:

  • Tdap vaccine required (declination accepted with written signature).
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray required.
  • Flu vaccine or exemption required.
• Drug Testing: 9-panel drug screen required within a year of start.

Background and History Checks

• Criminal Background Check: Required within 60 days of start, covering all states lived/worked in the past 7 years.
• References: 2 references required.

Additional Information

• Facility Specific Documents: Various documents required prior to start, including confidentiality agreements and proof of fingerprinting submission.
• Training: Candidates will complete modules during orientation.
