Job Description

• Role: Med/Surg Tele RN
• Shifts:

  • Rotating shifts: 7pm-7:30am / 7am-7:30pm
  • Typically consists of 2 weeks of days followed by 2 weeks of nights.
• Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience.
  • 18 months permanent experience in the specialty prior to travel assignments.
• Licensure: Must have a permanent Ohio license or compact state license in hand.
• Certifications Required:

  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Additional Requirements

• Holidays: Must work at least every other holiday.
• Orientation: ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment required during orientation.
• Documentation:

  • Government-issued photo ID required.
  • Various health documents and certifications as outlined below.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical Exam: Required within a year of start.
• Fit Mask: Required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
• Vaccinations:

  • Tdap vaccine every 10 years.
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season.
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray within 12 months of start.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer.
  • Varicella vaccination or titer.
• Drug Testing: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.

Background and Reference Checks

• Background Check: Required prior to start and updated annually.
• References: Two references required from employment within the past year, from a manager or supervisor.

• Work History: Must include 3 years prior work history, including at least 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting.
• Skills Checklist: Required annually.

Onboarding Process

• Candidates must complete all onboarding modules prior to clearance to start. The process typically takes multiple days to complete.
