Staffing ratios - goal is 1:4, but can be 1:5
Weekends - variable based on unit needs
No set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff
Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule
First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor
Oncology experience preferred but not required
Floating to other Med/Surg and Oncology Units
Patient Diagnoses include Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Acute leukemias, Chronic Leukemias, Sickle Cell Disease, other non hem cancers, Other benign hematology
Special Procedures/Unit Details include Chemotherapy, Blood transfusions, IV Antibiotics, Oncologic emergencies: tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome, Insulin drips, Heparin drips, Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls

Job requirements

Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, ONS Chemo Cert
Skills Required: MS/Tele, Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams, Feeding tube care and management
IV therapy/Phlebotomy
Blood Product Administration
Central line blood draw
Peripheral Line Care/Management
PICC line management
Starting IVs
