Job Description

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will:

• Perform assessments of patient respiratory status.
• Provide respiratory treatments and evaluate patient responses to care.
• Educate patients regarding respiratory treatments, health, and wellness.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficient in reading, writing, and conversing effectively in English.
• Ability to use personal computers and relevant software, including electronic documentation programs.
• Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.

Education/Certifications/Licenses/Degrees

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS).
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (must be obtained within 6 months).
• American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurses’ Association Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) (must be obtained within 1 year).
• American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider (must be obtained within 1 year).
• Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist in Oregon and Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

Experience

• One or more years of experience as a respiratory therapist in an acute hospital setting preferred.
• New graduates will be considered.
