• Permanent Address Requirement: Must be 50 miles away from the facility

Patient Types

• Medical, Surgical, Telemetry:

  • Afib/RVR, CHF, Chest pain r/o, Acute Coronary Syndrome, post Cath Lab with TR Bands
  • Surgical overflow - Abdominal, General
  • General: Sepsis, PNA, Stroke, DKA, COVID

Patient Ratios

• RN:

  • Days: 1:5-6
  • Nights: 1:6
• CNA: 2-3 per 30 patients

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS

Skills Required

• Tele RN required
• Must pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival
• Cardiac experience: lead placement, cardiac strip analysis/interpretation, Non-titrating Cardiac gtts (Dopamine, Cardizem, Primacor, Amio, Dobutamine, Lasix, Insulin)

Support on the Unit

• Charge nurse (may or may not have patient assignment)
• Phlebotomy (peripheral blood draws only)
• IV/VAT Team for PICC/Midline placement
• House Supervisor, 24/7
• Hospitalist available, 24/7
• RT, OT, PT, ST available

Charting System/Equipment

• EMR: Meditech Expanse
• IV Pumps: Alaris
• Medication Dispensing: Pyxis

Orientation

• 2 days in the hospital and 2 days on the unit

Scheduling

• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Work Schedule: 4 days one week and 3 days the next week (mandatory)
• Time Off: Up to 7 days (must extend contract for full weeks of RTO), may only request 1 weekend off per 13-week contract
• Holiday Expectations: Required to work 2/3 major holidays
