- Position: CDU (Clinical Decision "Observation" Unit) RN
- Years of Experience Required: 2 years
- Patient Ratios: 1:5 (Day), 1:6 (Night)
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
- Unit Average Daily Census: 40
- Patient Types: Observation, general medical, post-op PCI, post-op general and gynecological surgery, short-stay inpatient and/or extended outpatient stay, GI bleed, SBO, ESRD, CHF, COPD, chronic bi-pap/C-pap, stable CIWA.
- Limitations: Limited isolation patients, no chemotherapy, no peritoneal dialysis, no acute bi-pap, no hemodynamically unstable pre-op, no post-op requiring stepdown level of care.
Certifications Required
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIH (National Institutes of Health) certification preferred
