Job Description
- Unit: PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown and telemetry required.
- Patient Ratios:
- General Care: 1:4
- IMC: 1:2
- Experience Required:
- Must have experience in an Academic Level I or II trauma center or a similar size hospital.
- Inpatient RN travelers must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty they are applying for.
Licensure and Certification Requirements
- Nursing License: Must have a Wisconsin nursing license or a compact license from the permanent address state.
- BLS Certification: Must be certified through the American Heart Association ONLY.
- Telemetry Experience: Basic Arrhythmia experience required. Candidates must pass a Telemetry test prior to starting (not applicable for clinic positions).
Unit Information
- The 29-bed unit provides specialized nursing care to acutely ill adult patients with multiple comorbidities, various medical diagnoses, and hemodynamic instability. Specialty populations include patients with Cystic Fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and post-lung transplant.
Additional Requirements
- Floating: Travelers may be assigned shifts in multiple units based on staffing needs.
- Distance Requirement: Traveler’s permanent address must be within 50 miles of the assigned primary work site location.
Compliance and Documentation
- Background Check: Required within 90 days prior to the start date.
- Health Documents: Various health documents and vaccinations are required, including TB tests, MMR, Varicella, and Hepatitis B.
- Competency Exams: Specific competency exams related to telemetry and other clinical skills are required.
