    Job requirements
  • 2+ years of hospital experience required.
  • Must have PCU experience and Telemetry experience.
  • Must be certified in BLS and ACLS.
  • Preferred skills include additional PCU/ICU experience and PCCN or CCCN Certification.
  • Meditech experience preferred.
    Schedule information
  • Shift Detail: 12-hours (6:45a-7:15p) (6:45p-7:15a).
  • Scheduling requirements: Must work at least 4 weekend shifts per month.
  • Shifts are requested by staff and balanced by the unit director.
  • No call requirements.
  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week.
    Unit specific information
  • Unit: Progressive Care (PCU).
  • Progressive Care Unit/Telemetry/ICU Stepdown classification.
  • Building/Floor/Suite information of unit: Main Tower/3rd Floor.
  • Number of Beds: 33.
  • Patient Ratios: 4-5:1.
  • Unit staffing description: 1 Unit Coordinator daily/2-3 Patient Care Assistants daily.
  • Type of equipment: Lifts, Patient Tele Monitors (bedside and remote), EKG, IV Poles, SCDs, Beds, Low Beds, Glucometer.
  • Documentation system: Meditech.
  • Procedures performed on unit include blood draws, stroke assessments, CPR, ACLS, lifts, wound care, IV therapy.
  • Patient Experience Required: Service recovery, assistance for concerns, AIDET, hourly rounding, bedside shift report.
  • Must follow Methodist’s ICARE Values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence).
