Job Description

Role: RN - CVOR - OR/Surgery
Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM (8-hour day shifts)
Call Requirements: Yes
Experience Required: Meditech experience, orthopedic, neuro, trauma, and robotics experience.

Unit Information

Location: Round Rock Medical Center
Number of Beds: 11 operating rooms
Staffing:
- Total Staff: 40 on all shifts
- Day Shift: 1 charge RN, 11 RNs, 11 Techs, 2 PCTs
- Night Shift: Mon-Thurs 2 RNs, 2 Techs; Fri-Sun 1 RN, 1 Tech
- Weekend: 1 charge, 2 RNs, 2 CSTs, 1 PCT
Patient Ratios: 1:1
Equipment: Varied OR equipment including Microscopes, Robot Da Vinci Xi, Mako Robot, Laparoscopic Stryker tower, Stealth, endovascular Hybrid room equipment.
EMR: Meditech

Hiring Profile

Required Skills

General surgery, orthopedic, and neuro surgery experience (both RN and Tech)
Basic general OR knowledge (more than one year)
For CVOR: At least two years of CVOR experience, including adult open heart cases and endovascular cases.

Preferred Skills

Trauma experience (both RN and Tech)
Vascular surgery experience (RN and Tech)

Typical Procedures

X-lif, A-lif, Decompression, ACDF, Craniotomy, Robotic surgery (thoracic, general, gyn, and urology), Ortho Trauma, total joints (Mako Robot), general open and laparoscopic surgery.
CV procedures: CABG, valves, surgeries of the Aorta, TAVR, TCAR, TEVAR, EVAR, and open vascular cases.

Flexibility to work in different types of rooms and cases.
Ability to adapt to departmental workflows.
Willingness to pick up extra hours if needed.
Openness to assist in training new grad techs or RNs.

Scrub Color: Light blue (scrubs provided).
