# Births per day/month/year: 255 annually

Common diagnoses include Labor, Preeclampsia, HTN, Obesity, Gestational Diabetes, Preterm labor

Experience requirement: At least one year, with a focus on L&D, OR circulation and recovery, and couplet care post recovery

RNs are required to titrate drips such as Pitocin and Insulin

Charge Nurse/House Supervisor on-unit to manage cases with lower acuity

Experience with OBIX EFM System

Additional call required to cover intermittent LOAs and vacations

Weekend Requirements: Every other to every third weekend

Holiday Requirements: Half of the holidays switching every year

Call or standby requirement: 1-2 12 hour shifts per 6 week period, can be split into 4 hour blocks

Floating Requirements: Only in critical need situations, primarily in MS as helping hands/sitter without a full patient assignment

Scheduling committee with unit staff make schedule with leadership approval

Scrub Color: Hospital provided scrubs with water proof non slip shoes

Department: Labor and Delivery | RN

RNs assist with common surgical procedures such as hysterectomies

Nurse aides/surgical techs: Primarily clerical work and phlebotomy on the unit

Nurses do not attend to Tele/Monitor tech duties; remote capabilities available
