Job Description

The Registered Nurse II in Labor and Delivery (L&D) will:

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise individualized patient care.
• Collaborate with physicians, patients/families, and healthcare team members.
• Individualize patient care based on age-appropriate and developmental needs.
• Complete nursing assessments and document appropriately.
• Develop and coordinate a plan of care.
• Participate in discharge planning and patient/family education.
• Maintain professional standards through participation in inservices and committees.
• Facilitate physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual care of patients.
• Utilize positive communication skills for conflict resolution and teamwork.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical Registered Nurse experience preferred in specialty areas.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an L&D RN is required.
• Travel experience is a must.

Required Certifications

• California RN license
• BLS - AHA
• ACLS - AHA
• NRP

Additional Information

• The position may require flexibility in working on other nursing units.
• Acts as preceptor and charge nurse as assigned.
• Actively participates in achieving departmental goals.
