A hospital in Arizona is looking for an experienced Couplet nurse for a travel assignment. The right candidate will have 2 years of experience and hold an active BLS, NRP and AZ license or compact. Travelers could float to the sister facility, Chandler Regional to postpartum.
Unit: Couplet Care
# beds: 22-30 Postpartum Beds
Certs: RNs will need BLS and NRP certifications
Ratios: Typically 3:1 Couplets, 4:1 with a PCT
EMR: Cerner
Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Our typical patients consist of Vaginal deliveries, C/section deliveries, some may be on Mag sulfate, antibiotics, hypertensive meds.

Job requirements

2 years of Couplet care experience
Active BLS, NRP and AZ license or compact

Schedule information

Shifts: We do 12 hour shifts, for nights it is 7pm-0730am
Weekend Requirement: For FT staff we require 3 weekend shifts, which is Friday and Saturday night for Night Shift and one Sunday on a 4 week schedule.
Holidays: Travelers to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, NY)

Scrub Color: The dress code for RNs is Dignity Health scrubs but for travelers, they can wear Dark Blue scrubs.
Floor specific orientation: 3 shifts
Charge Nurse: There is a Charge nurse in Couplet that manages the shift, she does not typically have an assignment.
Nurse Aides: Typically we do not staff a PCT, but on occasion if we need to staff at 4:1 then we will have a PCT
Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes, we have an OB hospitalist in house 24/7, and Pediatrician coverage/oncall 24 hours.
IV Team: No, the nurses do their own IV starts.
RT 24/7: YES, they are available 24/7.
Pharmacy 24/7: Pharmacy is available 24/7
