Job Description

• Experience Required: 2 years
• First-Time Traveler: Must note in application
• Float Requirement: Required to float between IMCU/Tele/CDU units
• Documentation System: EPIC

Patient Diagnosis

• Adult, Geriatric, General Respiratory Failure, Cardiac, Renal, CIWA, GI
• Mixed Tele and IMCU on two floors:

  • IMCU: 1:3 patient ratio
  • Tele: 1:4 patient ratio

Special Procedures/Unit Details

• Must be IMU Level RNs for this PCU
• Pre/Post cardiac cath
• Bipap, Breathing Treatments, CPAP/BiPap
• Cardioversion / Defibrillation
• Cooling / Warming Blanket
• Obtain 12 Lead EKG
• Management of drains, epidural pumps, feeding tubes, PCA pumps
• PICC/Central Lines, Port-A-Cath/Vascular Device Access/Care, Syringe Pumps, Triple Lumen Catheter, Wound Vac
• Administration of Amiodarone, Antiarrhythmics, Anti-seizure medications

Skills Required

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Blood product administration
• Procedural sedation administration
• Chest tube management
• Tracheostomy management

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Additional Information

• Background Check: Required within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked within the past 7 years.
• Health Documents:

  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start
  • TB test or chest X-ray
  • Vaccinations (TDAP, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu, COVID-19)
  • Drug Testing (10 Panel)
• References: Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment total within the last three years.

Compliance and Training

• Completion of required training modules via WorkRamp prior to start.
• Float Policy Acknowledgement required.
