Job Description

• Start Date: ASAP
• Unit Type: Blended unit of Medical-Surgical (MS) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients.

  • ICU Capacity: 5 ICU beds
  • MS Capacity: 27 MS beds
  • Patient Ratios:

    • ICU: 1:2-3 depending on acuity
    • MS: 1:5-6
• Shift: 12-hour nights (1700-0530)
• Floating: Required
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
• Rounding: Hourly rounding required
• BSSR: Required

Qualifications

• Experience: Higher acuity PCU or ICU experience required, as this is a mixed unit.
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Preferred Certification:

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Additional Information

• Documentation Requirements:

  • Current Driver's License or Government-issued photo ID
  • Various certifications (ACLS, BLS, PALS, etc.)
  • Background checks and employment verification
  • Health documents including TB testing, drug testing, and vaccination records

Competencies

• Unit-specific competency exams required within 12 months of start
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam must be completed annually

Health Documents

• Flu vaccine required during flu season
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• COVID-19 vaccination documentation required

References

• Two professional references required, one from a supervisor level or higher within the last year.
