Job Description

• Experience Required: 2 years
• First-Time Travelers: Must note in application
• Float Requirement: Required to float between IMCU/Tele/CDU units
• Documentation System: EPIC

Patient Diagnosis

• Adult and Geriatric patients with conditions including:

  • General Respiratory Failure
  • Cardiac issues
  • Renal issues
  • CIWA (Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment)
  • GI (Gastrointestinal) issues

Unit Details

• Mixed Telemetry and IMCU on two floors:

  • IMCU (Intensive Monitoring Care Unit) on 3E with a 1:3 patient ratio
  • Telemetry on 2E with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Special Procedures:

  • Pre/Post cardiac catheterization
  • Bipap and CPAP management
  • Cardioversion/Defibrillation
  • 12 Lead EKG acquisition
  • Management of drains, epidural pumps, feeding tubes, and PCA pumps
  • Care for PICC/Central lines and vascular devices

Required Skills

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Blood product administration
• Procedural sedation administration
• Chest tube management
• Tracheostomy management

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Additional Information

• Background Check: Required within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked within the past 7 years.
• Health Documents:

  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start
  • TB test or chest X-ray
  • Vaccinations (TDAP, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu, COVID-19)
  • Drug Testing (10 Panel)
• References: Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment total within the last three years, from a supervisor.

Compliance and Training

• Completion of required training modules via WorkRamp prior to start.
• Must adhere to floating policy and may be required to float to other facilities within a reasonable distance.
