Job Description

The surgical technician, under the guidance of the registered nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of patients. Key responsibilities include ensuring effective communication with the OR Specialty and Nurse Manager, patients, other staff, physicians, and hospital departments.

Submission Requirements

• Certifications:

  • NBSTSA preferred, but NCCT accepted
• Experience:

  • Must have open heart experience (required)
  • 1.5+ years of experience (required)
  • Proficiency in Neuro, Ortho, Vascular, and Cardiovascular (preferred)
• Travel: Highly preferred
• References: Not required
• Skills Checklist: Required for RN specialties; preferred for other professions
• License Verification: Michigan license verification required for nurses (provide LARA and Nursys)
• Full-time Employees: Not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment
