Shift Information

• Shift: Nights, 19:00 - 07:30
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 (must be indicated on submission form)
• Weekend Hours: As required by facility / every other weekend
• Call Requirements: None

Licensure and Certifications

• Required Licensure: Current RN License in Missouri
• Required Certifications: BLS from AHA only
• Preferred Certifications: ACLS from AHA only

Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience: 1 year in Med Surg (inpatient only)
• Float Requirements: As needed to a similar or lower acuity unit

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 60 (split into 2 wings of 30 beds)
• Patient Ratios: 1:5/6
• Equipment Used: Bladder scanner, vein finder, IV pumps, wound vacs
• EMR System: EPIC

Personality and Skills

• Must Have Skills/Experience: 1 year Med Surg experience
• Preferred Skillset/Experience: Teamwork, dependable, flexible
• Type of Patients on Unit: Medical

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Black
• Unacceptable Attire: Anything other than black scrubs

Additional Information

• Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care activities including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments.
  • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers.

Working Conditions

• Physical Requirements:

  • Stand and walk most of the time on duty.
  • Significant bending, stooping, and lifting of patients with assistance.
  • High risk exposure to blood and body fluids.
  • Physical demands include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs.
