2 years Peds acute care experience- must be comfortable with high flow oxygen, spinal fusion, chest tubes
Candidates with multiple years’ experience in traveling are first to be considered
Must be willing to do night shift for the first contract

Schedule information

Number of Beds – 36- all private rooms with parent sleeping accommodations
Number of Staff – 60
Day Shift – 1 charge (patient free), 1-3 PCTs (CNAs), occasionally a Clinical Nurse Coordinator as extra resource
Night Shift - 1 charge (patient free), 1-2 PCT’s, occasionally a Clinical Nurse Coordinator as resource
Scheduling is very important to the hiring manager - flexibility in schedules is provided to travelers in line with full time employees

Unit specific information

Peds Care Unit Specifics
Patient Ratios - Mixed care patients are staffed 1:3 and basic care patients are staffed 1:4
Typical procedures: NGTs, Foleys, TP Tubes, PIVs, phlebotomy, occasional LP’s
The department does not manage CPAP, BiPAP, or trach/vents in the department; these cases go to PICU
