Huntsville, AL

About

Known as “Rocket City” for its critical role in putting Americans into space, Huntsville, Alabama, is a center of science, research and the U.S. space flight program. The Marshall Space Flight Center is the government’s spacecraft propulsion research center and brings major aerospace giants like Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon to town. These and other companies fill Cummings Research Park, the second-largest research park in the nation. However, Huntsville offers a laid-back Southern vibe, making life simpler and less fast-paced than most other centers of Science. Local eateries like Cotton Row Restaurant and Connor’s Steak and Seafood offer delicious Southern cuisine you won’t find anywhere else.
