- Intensivist MD In house 24/7 MD
- RNs required to read and interpret, no monitor techs, central monitor station, RN to read strips
Job requirements
- Shifts & Scheduling: 7a-7p, 7p-7a manager to make schedule, will consider blocks if meets unit needs. If D/N Rotation, rotation will not occur more than weekly
- Weekend Requirements: Every other
- Holiday Requirements: Every other
- Floating Requirements: All areas as helping hands, To MS Tele for PCU patients, and MS for full patient assignment, some ER Holds/ boarding
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 2- 12 hour shifts
Schedule information
- # of Beds 15
- Nurse:Patient Ratios ICU: 1:1:2, PCU 1:3
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients varies- adults and geriatrics. CABG, carotids, VATs, anything cardiovascular, STEMIs, sepsis and pressors, Covid, pneumonia, general surgical- sepsis, traumas, ventrics, cranis, bolts, DKA, OD, ETOH withdrawal, IABP, Impella, prismaflex, ventilators, arctic sun, ECMO
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Charge goes to codes, RRT, normally no assignment, maybe takes 1 patient if needed.
- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? none
- Hospitalist &/or Intensivist in house 24/7? In the ICU 24/7? Intensivist MD In house 24/7 MD
- RT in ICU 24/7? 1 assigned to ICU
- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? Nasal cannula to vents, RN to trouble shoot equipment
- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? RNs required to read and interpret, no monitor techs, central monitor station, RN to read strips
Unit specific information
- ICU PCU combined, ICU RN to take PCU patients frequently
- Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
- RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
