Job Description
- The position involves working in the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) with a focus on Adult Cardiac Care.
- Candidates must have strong cardiac experience and may be required to float to the Emergency Room (ER) as needed.
Floating Policy
- Agency staff are required to float to other Prisma Health units and/or campuses as requested due to census concerns. Staff will only float to units they are qualified for.
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Must be AHA or ARC certified; certification cannot expire within 30 days of start.
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Must be AHA, RQI, or ARC certified; certification cannot expire within 30 days of start.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for specific units; certification cannot expire within 30 days of start.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure): Required for NICU and L&D; certification cannot expire within 30 days of start.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course): Required for ER/ED and Pediatric ER travelers; certification cannot expire during assignment.
- HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement: Required for all candidates.
- State License Verification: Must show no pending action against the license; verification must be run within 30 days of start.
- NURSYS Verification: Required for RN, LPN/LVN, and AP; must be run within 30 days of start.
- IV Certification: Required for all LPN/LVN candidates.
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB): Required for ER/ED and Pediatric ER; certification must be valid for the entire length of the assignment.
Health Documents
- Physical Exam: Required to attest to the candidate's ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Drug Testing: Required within 1 year of start and updated annually.
- Vaccination Records: Documentation for Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella is required.
- Flu Vaccine Documentation: Required for the 2024-2025 flu season.
Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for positions that dispense medication.
- Color Blind Testing: Required for nurses assigned to the Emergency Department and Pediatric ER.

- Candidates must complete online orientation modules and pre-assignment testing within specified timeframes.
